West Physics Residency Program

West Physics’ Medical Physics Residency Program is a three-year CAMPEP-accredited residency program in diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine physics based in Atlanta, Georgia. This intensive program offers physicists/applicants interested in pursuing a career in diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine a fantastic opportunity to learn from the most knowledgeable and experienced diagnostic medical physicists and health physicists in the world.

Our residents perform surveys on the most technologically advanced imaging equipment found in the market today, while our international footprint provides many unique travel experiences from California to the Caribbean.

From January 2022 to June 2023, the West Physics Residency Program received 27 applications. Nine were offered admission, and seven enrolled into the program. As of September 2023, there are 11 residents in the program.

No residents graduated from the program during that time period. Three residents are expected to graduate in the first half of 2024.

If you are interested in being considered for acceptance into the West Physics Residency Program, please email Mark Broomfield at [email protected] for more information.

Summarizing the Restrictive Covenants

As a private-practice medical physics group, West Physics requires entering residents (like all starting employees) to agree to certain restrictive covenants. These covenants, which include non-compete, non-disclosure and non-disparagement requirements, adhere to current CAMPEP standards (Section 6.7) governing appropriate protections for private-practice medical physics programs.
