John Greenhalgh

Biography

Dr. Greenhalgh earned his A.B. degree in physics from Princeton University in 1976, where as a senior he worked at the Princeton Cyclotron in experimental nuclear physics under the direction of Stuart J. Freedman. He completed his Ph.D. at Stanford University in 1981, where he studied under Mel Schwartz (a 1988 Nobel laureate in physics), specializing in experimental elementary particle physics. In 1981, Dr. Greenhalgh returned to Princeton as a post-doctoral research associate and later became a Lecturer in the Department of Physics. In 1985, he joined FONAR Corp. as a Research Scientist – Engineer and since 1987 has served as FONAR’s Director of MRI Applications Research. In that capacity, Dr. Greenhalgh has had broad responsibilities in pulse sequence programming and software development, field service, and clinical applications. He is now very happy to bring his many years of imaging expertise to bear as a consulting physicist for West Physics.

Dr. Greenhalgh is originally from New City, New York.
