Biography

Mr. West has an extensive amount of experience in a broad range of medical and health physics areas. After service with both the Department of Energy and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in a variety of technical and regulatory roles, Mr. West spent several years in private practice with Phoenix Technology Corporation as a Senior Medical Physicist and Director of MRI Operations. Mr. West now operates West Physics Consulting, helping clients with their physics needs throughout the United States. Among his activities and accomplishments, Mr. West has been the recipient of the NRC's Special Act Award; has participated in U.S. nuclear diplomatic negotiations at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria; has delivered the keynote address to the the National Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors; has presented a number of national seminars on MRI quality assurance; and is the holder of a United States Patent.

In addition to his many other responsibilities, Mr. West currently serves as the corporate radiation safety officer (RSO) for InSight Health Corp., supervising the operation of a nationwide clinical positron emission tomography (PET) service.

Mr. West is originally from Atlanta, GA.
